Match report And so to our debut at Clay Hall, not quite the Doc but nice enough.
On a sunny day and a worn pitch skip of course lost the toss so we fielded first... The first 15 overs yielded a high class effort from the whole team both bowling and Fielding , Tom and Nathan produced a fab opening spell backed up by Rips and Ed, the Cat and amazing grab, Nick a good one hander, and if it werent for a disgraceful run out being given not out they would have been 12-4.. Andrew their skipper batted well and with some lusty hitting at the end they got to 121. Tea was Yummy thanks Jacky and Vic for picking up, and a big thanks to young Oli and Griff for scoring.

Chasing was never going to be easy, Nick miscued and was caught, Jack looked good then got a pee roller and was LBW, Stuart battled hard and with Rips looking good things picked up, but Stuart was out quickly followed by Fred and Dan. By now uneven bounce and lots of spin was making things tricky, Nathan looked good but was Barbequed by Rips and we looked in deep trouble. Enter though the Cat, he and Rips played vey well and put on over 60 to al but get us home before rips was bowled .

So 2-2 bowling and fielding very pleasing, batting we still have a long way to go about decision making and being positive and hitting the bad balls for 4 but a team featuring 2 x 13 year old, 2 14 year olds and a 15 year old are doing a lot of things well and we should all be very proud of that.
